My Tree-Tables are hand-carved from the timber of British Native trees, and are inspired by the trees from which the wood comes from. Each table is an individual project which usually starts with a log cut to size, and shaped initially with the help of a chainsaw. It then has to be seasoned and dried before the intricacies of the hand-carving of the branches with chisels. Then there is the process of chosing the right planked wood top for the right carved log, and when requried, for the plynth. There is of course hours of sanding! The tables are finished with a furniture grade Danish oil which creates a smooth surface with a light sheen which is water, heat and UV resistant.
